  Ootacamund or "Ooty"

Officers of the "RAJ" and Government people would flock to "Ooty" during the hot months, this was a well favoured Hill Station. The British first sent their Officers and men, and the British Rulers their "English" Civil servants here for recouperation from illnesses and injuries.
