Madras as it was in 1893. Having been in Madras myself in the 1970s I look at this street map and feel nostalgia. Though there are obviously many changes between then and now many streets have names we know and I guess it's not that different from today. Please click on the image for a full sized view. Ootacamund or
"Ooty" Officers of the "RAJ" and Government people would flock to "Ooty" during the hot months, this was a well favoured Hill Station.
